Starting again is Dietmar Müller-Elmau's motto. He never planned to take over his parents' luxury hotel, Schloss Elmau (http://www.schloss-elmau.de/en/news/), and founded a software company instead. But in 1996 he sold
the firm and invested the proceeds in the family business. In 2005, a fire destroyed much of the upper floor, but Müller-Elmau rebuilt the hotel. In June, the 41st G7 summit is slated to take
place there. A week-long family vacation at Schloss Elmau costs as much as 7,000 euros. It's a Bavarian paradise for the jet set. Dietmar Müller-Elmau transformed the old-fashioned establishment
into a modern spa hotel. After the fire destroyed much of his efforts, he ploughed around 35 million euros into its reconstruction. Christian Pricelius profiles a man who has doggedly pursued his
goals against all odds and will be rewarded by playing host to world leaders next summer.
