Tucscon, Arizona - Coming off of one of the busiest holiday travel seasons ever, we will soon start seeing a whole other trend of travelers come our way and people escaping colder climates.
Whether they're coming to stay in Tucson for just a weekend, or months, hotels are already preparing for a surge in all sorts of guests. According to AAA, an improving economy and increased
consumer confidence, are helping drive travel volumes to some of the highest levels seen in recent years. Dan Carraher, Director of Sales and Marketing at JW Marriott Starr Pass said they expect
to see more "staycationers" thanks to gas prices. "Gas prices will be much more affordable, giving us ability to attract folks from Phoenix, San Diego, even the Bay area. They're all coming to
Tucson. We are an easy city to get to, not to mention our proximity to these major cities." For hotels like JW Marriott Starr Pass, events are also very important to draw in tourist. Organizers
already have the 2015 year-schedule planned out starting with a New Year's Eve Jazz Festival Bash.
