Downtown Phoenix hotel remains closed after fire

A big financial blow to the Sheraton Phoenix downtown hotel. The hotel has been closed since an electrical fire on Saturday and now we're learning it will stay closed through Wednesday. Crews are working around the clock to get this hotel re-opened. It's the largest hotel in Arizona with a total of 1,000 rooms. But it looks like it will still be a few more days before any guests are allowed inside.

The fire started Saturday morning in a panel located in the hotel's electrical room. More than 100 personnel from Phoenix Fire was on scene and streets in the area were blocked off. A total of 800 guests were evacuated and put up in different hotels, not an easy task on what was a very busy weekend in Phoenix. A spokesperson for the hotel said they are expecting the hotel to be closed through Wednesday. They have shuttle buses running their guests to planned events to try and make it easier for them. Electricians are working to fix the electrical panel will also be doing a lot of testing to make sure everything is working exactly as it should.
