Dilapidated World Trade Center could evolve into a five-star hotel with private homes

One development team in New Orleans is a big step closer to getting the chance to transform one of the city’s most valuable pieces of real estate. The worn out World Trade Center building at 2 Canal Street could turn into a world-class Four Seasons hotel property. An original pool of 10 options was narrowed down to five finalists, and the front runner was named Tuesday. It’s the design and construction team of Carpenter and Co. / Woodward LLC. Carpenter & Co. President and CEO, Richard Friedman, says New Orleans is ready for a Four Seasons. He added, “Four Seasons is not a company that goes just anywhere. They’re very selective. We’re going to build the best hotel this city’s ever seen.”
